Frequently Asked Questions

Osteopathy helps your body handle the physical stresses of everyday life—like movement, posture, and gravity. It looks at how your body supports and adapts to these forces. When your body can't distribute them properly; pain, tension and inflammation can manifest in the body. Osteopathy focuses on resolving the underlying restrictions so your body can return to balance and move freely.

Anyone whose body is having difficulty adapting to the physical demands and stresses of everyday life.

This may include people experiencing:

  • Ongoing pain, including neck, back, joint, or nerve-related pain.
  • Acute injuries or those recovering from injury or surgery.
  •  People experiencing sudden pain or the recurrence of a previous injury or condition.
  • Sports injuries, overuse, or movement imbalances.
  • Digestive discomfort, bloating, or other functional concerns that may be influenced by the body's overall mechanics.
  • Stress-related symptoms, including poor sleep, or feeling run down.
  • A general sense that their body isn't moving or functioning as freely or comfortably as it once did.

Osteopathy is generally safe for most people, including children and older adults. However, it's important to discuss any specific medical conditions or concerns with your practitioner before starting treatment.

Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute blocks for booking purposes. Osteopathic care is guided by clinical findings and the needs of each patient. Appointments can be between 20 minutes to 30 minutes long.

Your first appointment includes a thorough discussion of your health history, current concerns, symptoms, lifestyle, and any previous treatments. We will then perform a physical assessment to evaluate movement, posture, mobility, and areas of discomfort. Using this information, we will create a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

Yes! Even if it is outside of my operating hours, if it is an emergency, feel free to call and I will do my best to acomodate you into my schedule

Osteopathic treatment is covered by most extended health benefit plans. Coverage varies by provider and policy, so we recommend confirming your individual benefits prior to your appointment.

To respect the time reserved for all patients, we kindly ask that any appointment cancellations or changes be made at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, may be subject to the full treatment fee.
